Big Talk Therapy

Individual Therapy in Pasadena, CA

For adults working through anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, trauma, codependency, body image concerns, or the relationship patterns that keep showing up in different parts of life. Sessions are 55 minutes.

Even when you’re the only one in the room, most of what brings people to individual therapy is still relational. It might show up as the way you react when someone gets close, or pull away, or take something personally that maybe wasn’t meant that way. I work from attachment theory and Internal Family Systems (IFS), which means I’m looking at where those patterns came from and how they still show up now, not just managing a symptom in isolation.

Some clients come in already knowing what they want to work on. Others just know something isn’t working and want help figuring out what that is. Either way, individual therapy with me often starts with something specific: a relationship that feels harder than it should, a pattern you keep noticing in yourself, or something from the past that still affects how you respond to people today.

In individual sessions, I often work with codependency, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and stress, along with the relational patterns underneath them.

Big Talk Therapy is my solo practice, not a large group or a national chain, so you’ll work with me directly every session, not whichever provider has an opening. Whatever you’re working through, we’ll work through it together.

Questions about getting started

What does a first session actually look like?
The process starts with a brief consultation, a chance to talk about what’s bringing you to therapy and ask any questions before committing to anything. If it feels like a good fit, I’ll send over intake documentation and an initial assessment for you to complete.
How often will we meet?
That’s up to you: weekly, biweekly, or monthly, whatever fits your schedule.

Fees

Individual sessions are $200. A sliding scale is available and considered case by case, so if cost is a concern, reach out to talk about your options.
